What's the best way to get around town?
Due to changes to the timetable and the introduction of a rail replacement service, passengers will need to plan their journeys differently to reach their desired destination. To help you with this, we have put together some recommendations to ensure a stress-free journey through Rostock.
From the north-west of Rostock by S-Bahn
If possible, use the relevant S-Bahn lines to travel into the city, changing at the central transfer points of Lütten Klein and Marienehe. You can reach these easily by bus and tram. From there, we recommend continuing your journey to Parkstraße or the main station. There you can easily change to the trams. The Parkstraße stop, known as “Neuer Holbeinplatz”, is the central interchange for continuing your journey by tram.
To travel to the north-west, also use the Parkstraße and Hauptbahnhof interchanges and take the S-Bahn to Marienehe or Lütten Klein.
You can also use line 39 (S Lütten Klein <> Hauptbahnhof Süd).
To travel to the KTV, take the S-Bahn to Holbeinplatz. From there, take the SEV bus on line E1.
Saarplatz: a key transport hub
Saarplatz is a central interchange point for various bus and train services and also offers connections to the SEV E1 bus route. The following services are available at Saarplatz:
Tram routes: 1, 3, 5, 6
Bus routes: 25, SEV E1
At Doberaner Platz on the SEV E2 line
Doberaner Platz is a central interchange for various bus and tram routes and also offers connections to the SEV E2 bus service. The following options are available at Doberaner Platz:
Tram routes: 1, 3, 5, 6
Bus routes: 25, SEV E2
Maximum flexibility from the Südstadt
In der Südstadt bietet die Haltestelle Erich-Schlesinger-Straße die Möglichkeit zwischen verschiedenen Linien und dem SEV zu wechseln. Folgende Linien können genutzt werden:
Tram-Linien: 4, 5, 6
Bus-Linien: 39, SEV E1
Stadthalle and Central Station
The Stadthalle stop and the main station serve as transfer points. If you’re travelling to the north-west of Rostock, you’re welcome to use the S-Bahn here too. Both stops are served by the SEV E1 and serve as transfer points. The following lines are available:
Tram lines: 3, 5, 6
Bus routes: SEV E1, 26 and 39 (all to Hauptbahnhof Süd)
