Restricted tram services in north-west Rostock, with rail replacement services (SEV)
Due to construction work between the Kunsthalle and Schmarler Damm, there will be further restrictions on tram services at the weekends of 22–23 August, 29–30 August and 5–6 September 2026, from the start of service on Saturday until the end of service on Sunday.
During the works, tram services between Kunsthalle and Mecklenburger Allee will be suspended.
Extension of the SEV E1 line
During the construction work, the SEV E1 service – which is already operating due to the works at the Werftdreieck – will be extended. The buses will also run between Heinrich-Schütz-Straße and Mecklenburger Allee and will take over the services of tram line 5 on the affected section during these weekends. This will ensure that the connection between the neighbourhoods is maintained.

Stops that are being discontinued
No replacement service can be provided for the Turkuer Straße and Rügener Straße stops. Passengers can instead use bus route 31 at the Sassnitzer Straße and Binzer Straße stops, or the SEV at the Möllner Straße and Warnowallee stops.
Direction: S Holbeinplatz/ Hauptbahnhof Süd
Towards S Holbeinplatz, the E1 initially follows the same route as in the opposite direction as far as Evershagen Süd.
From Evershagen Süd, the buses travel via the city motorway and then serve the following stops:

From Heinrich-Schütz-Straße, the E1 continues along its regular route towards Hauptbahnhof Süd.

Background
Due to work on the overhead lines between the Kunsthalle and Schmarler Damm, the tracks in north-east Rostock will be completely closed for the period stated.
